Through its Mako-sucking reactors—the lifeblood of the planet—the Shinra Electric Power Company has virtually taken over the world. Only a group of idealists known as Avalanche is resisting its rule.
Cloud, an elite Soldier turned mercenary, takes part in an Avalanche operation aimed at destroying Midgar’s Mako Reactor No. 1. The explosion turns the city into a living hell, and Cloud suffers hallucinations of his archenemy, whom he believed to be dead.
Thus begins, once again, the story that will define the fate of an entire world.
This game is a remake of FINAL FANTASY VII, first released in 1997. It is the first title in a series of games based on the story of the original game, covering events up to the escape from Midgar, and also includes additional content.
